Career in Tehnika

In 2007 I joined Tehnika as a carpenter. I worked on many construction sites in Zagreb and all over Croatia. I left Tehnika a year and a half ago, but I decided to return, now as a foreman. Tehnika is a safe and reliable company, where every employee can progress only if they want to. I believe that Tehnika will continue to be successful, that it will progress in its business, and we hope that some of our former employees will return.

I joined Tehnika 37 years ago, and the most memorable part of my working life was going to Russia, where we built a hospital on the edge of a town. That was a great personal and professional challenge for me, and I met a lot of people from different cities. All this time at Tehnika went by quickly because of the good environment, friends, and colleagues.

In Tehnika, I first worked on design tasks, until around 2012 when I moved to operations and construction of the HEP Kupska business complex, where a very demanding top-down construction method was applied, which was the most technologically demanding facility I have worked on. The Kupska project was technologically perfectly executed, because the work technology was, I could say, perfectly arranged, so that we always knew what needed to be done, where which excavator needed to be, and everything was super synchronized. In Tehnika, it is important to me that the profession is respected, that my superiors will never influence my decision if I have correctly applied some professional solution.

Tehnika gave me the opportunity to work with engineers who have 40+ years of experience and who have worked on very important buildings and I think that rarely any company could give me the opportunity to work with an engineer who worked on Sky Office, the Museum of Contemporary Art, West Gate in Split, Maksimir Stadium, National and University Library and similar projects. This experience has been a very good help in the development of my career and will continue to be of help to me. Definitely a very, very good experience! I cannot describe to you how helpful my colleagues were to me, full of understanding, my bosses were extraordinary, and I don't think I would have got that anywhere else.

I have become a burden to my wife and daughter because I tell them to look at this silo in Novska, I worked there, look at this silo in Slavonski Brod, I worked there, then in Đakovo, then in Županja, then in Vinkovci. Then they say, "Oh, you're just talking about your concrete and your buildings." Tehnika is the foundation of my life, the foundation of my life. Everything I've achieved, earned, is all in Tehnika.

Here, we all find the right solutions to shape the future of our customers by creating a home that is tailored to their needs, and we approach this very professionally and with a lot of emotion. Handing over the keys to a home is a very big deal for those people who have trusted Tehnika to build that home for them. The colleagues I work with are not just colleagues, they are also friends who we can always count on for teamwork, and that's why I really enjoy working here.
